Einmal im Jahr gibt es einen Berg- lauf auf der Strecke Engelberg - Rugghubelhütte. Stolze 1286 Hö- henmeter sind zu bezwingen, die selbst bei einer Tageswande- rung nicht ohne sind. Jedoch wird jeder, der via Ristis und ei- ner kurzen Rast in der Alp Rigidal weiter zur Rugghubelhütte wan- dert für die Anstrengungen be- lohnt und inmitten einer faszinie- renden Bergwelt mit herzlicher Gastfreundschaft empfangen. Leichtere Varianten der Tour star- ten ab Ristis oder der Brunni- hütte.

Each year, the fastest mountain runners from Engelberg and its environs compete on the route from Engelberg to the Rugghubel mountain hut. The racers have to overcome 1,286 metres of as- cent, which represents a chal- lenge even for a day’s hike. Any- one who takes on that chal- lenge, walking via Ristis and on to the Rugghubel hut after a visit to the Rigidal Alpine restaurant, will be well rewarded for their efforts – with cordial hospitality and gorgeous mountain views. There are easier variants of this walk starting from Ristis and the Brunni mountain hut.
