S IS IT

Grenzenlose Weite, Naturschauspiel, Freiheit – die Welt liegt einem zu Füssen. Auf dem Gipfel, hoch über dem Tal verschwinden überflüssige Gedanken hinter dem Horizont – das einzige was zählt, ist das Hier und Jetzt. Die Piste ist frisch präpariert, der Schnee glitzert mit den Augen um die Wette und dann geht’s endlich los. Die Kanten graben sich in den Schnee, Ski und Körper verschmelzen zu einer Einheit, der Rhythmus ist perfekt, der Speed am Limit – dann ist er da. Ein Moment, der sich absolut vollkommen anfühlt und sich in jeder Zelle des Körpers als unbeschreibliches Glücksgefühl manifestiert. At the mountain’s peak, high above the valley, all superfluous thoughts vanish beyond the horizon. All that matters is the here and now: the endless sky, the beautiful natural landscape, the sense of freedom. The world is at your feet. The slope is freshly groomed, the snow glitters enticingly, your anticipation for the descent grows. At last, you set off: the edges of your skis slice into the snow. Your body becomes one with your skis. You’re in perfect flow as you hit top speed – and there it is: that consummate moment when an indescribable feeling of happiness suffuses every cell in your body.
