Direkt ab dem Dorf startest du auf einem lieblichen Pfad, der sich erst durch Wälder und später über Weiden talauswärts den sonnenverwöhnten Bergrü- cken entlang windet. Wenn von weitem eine kleine Kapelle zu sehen ist, ist es bis zum Gasthaus Schwand nicht mehr weit. Die Sonnenterasse mit herrlichem Blick auf den Titlis lädt zur Rast ein. Der Rückweg erfolgt auf dem gleichen Weg oder mit ein paar Extrahöhenmetern übers Bergli und das Restaurant Flüh- matt, wo es die vielleicht bes- ten Älplermagronen Engelbergs gibt.

This pleasant hike leads out of the valley along a narrow path, winding along the edge of the woods until you reach the little chapel – visible from a good way off – next to the Schwand guesthouse. This is a wonder- ful place to stop for a rest. You have several options to choo- se from for the return journey. Probably the nicest variant – which does include a few extra metres of ascent – leads you across the Bergli and to the Flüh- matt restaurant, where you can enjoy possibly the best Älp- lermagronen in Engelberg on the sunny terrace.

Der bestens ausgebaute Weg entlang der Engelberger Aa lädt zum Spazieren oder Joggen ein und ist der Beginn manch einer Wanderung ins hintere Engelber- gertal. Zahlreiche Bänklein for- dern fast schon dazu auf, sich hi und da hinzusetzen, die Gedan- ken schweifen zu lassen und die schöne Bergwelt zu geniessen. Bis zur Fürenalp Talstation laden zahlreiche Restaurants auf dem Weg zur Einkehr ein. Der Gratis- Bus erleichtert auf Wunsch den Rückweg.

The excellently maintained path alongside the River Aa is a won- derful place to go for a walk or a run. It is the starting point for many hikes into the Engelberg Valley. The numerous little ben- ches will inspire you to take the weight off every now and again, to enjoy the beautiful scenery and let your thoughts run free. There are several restaurants along the way to the Fürenalp valley station, and you can op- tional use the free bus service to bring you back home.
